Terms

The agreement between you and us — with the data processing terms your business needs.

Who we are

SupportDist runs SupportDist.

Questions or requests about your data: [email protected]. Anything else: [email protected].

The service

SupportDist lets a business run help desks: a help center at supportdist.com/h/…, widgets for its own website, a community forum, and one inbox where its team answers what comes in, by email and on the web.

These terms are between us and the member who signs up. By making an account you agree to them, and you confirm you're 16 or over and, if you sign up for a business, that you can agree for it.

Your help desks

You're responsible for your desks: what they say, what you ask your customers, what you answer and who is on your team. Give your customers the information the law asks of you (for example, a link to your own privacy notice from your site).

Don't use SupportDist to send spam, to collect data you're not allowed to, to deceive, to harass anyone, to publish anything unlawful, or to pretend to be someone you're not. A desk's address and name must not pass it off as another business.

We may suspend a desk that breaks these rules, and remove what breaks the law, telling you why unless the law forbids it.

Community content

What people post in a desk's community stays theirs. By posting they let the desk show it, and let us store and show it for the desk. The desk's team moderates its community; we act on what's reported to us as unlawful.

Data processing terms

When you run a desk, you're the controller of your customers' personal data — what they send your desk — and we're your processor. These terms are our processing agreement (GDPR art. 28):

  • What, and why: names, email addresses, messages, ratings and the page a widget was opened on, of the people who contact your desk; processed to receive, store, show and send them as the service does, for as long as you keep your desk.
  • On your instructions: we process them only to provide the service as you set it up and use it, and as the law requires. We don't use them for anything of our own — no ads, no profiling, no training models.
  • Confidentiality: only the people who run the service can reach them, under a duty of confidentiality, and only when they must.
  • Security: encrypted in transit; private conversations reachable only with their key or by your team; sessions and keys stored as hashes or derived under a secret; access to our servers restricted to keys.
  • Sub-processors: Cloudflare (delivery and protection) and our hosting provider in the EU. We'll tell you before adding or replacing one, so you can object.
  • Your customers' rights: you can find, export (Premium), correct and erase what a customer sent from your dashboard; we help with anything else you need to answer them.
  • Breaches: we tell you without undue delay, with what we know, if your customers' data is breached.
  • At the end: deleting a ticket, a customer, a desk or your account deletes the data at once.
  • Proof: we give you what you need to show we keep to these terms, on request to [email protected].

Premium

Premium costs €12.99 a month, or less a month for 3, 6 or 12 months paid at once, as the pricing page shows, including any VAT. Payment is taken by PayBroadcast through Stripe when you subscribe.

It renews automatically at the end of each period, for the same period and price, until you cancel. Cancel any time from your account: Premium stays on until the end of the period you paid for, and nothing more is charged.

If you're a consumer in the EU, the EEA or the UK, you can withdraw within 14 days of buying Premium without giving a reason, and we refund what you paid, within 14 days, the way you paid. Write to [email protected].

If the price changes, it never applies to a period you've already paid for, and we tell you at least 30 days before it applies to a renewal, so you can cancel first.

When Premium ends your account goes back to Free. Nothing is deleted; what's over Free's limits stays, but you can't add more, and the Premium-only features switch off.

Free

Free is free for good, within the limits on the pricing page. We may change those limits, telling members at least 30 days before a change that takes something away.

Availability and liability

We work to keep SupportDist running and your data safe, but we provide it as it is, without guarantees that it will always be available or free of faults.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law doesn't allow to be limited. Otherwise our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, and we're not liable for indirect losses.

Ending

You can stop any time by deleting your account. We may close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, telling you why, and refund any Premium you paid for and won't get.

Invitations last 7 days; a desk's team member can leave a team at any time.

Changes and the law

If these terms change in a way that matters, members are told by email at least 30 days before. Keep using SupportDist after that and the new terms apply; otherwise you can delete your account.
